For Engineers
Drake Industries is more like an engineering firm rather than a printing company.
We maintain materials records, date of manufacture and revision changes for every label we print. We maintain records for at least 10 years. See an example here: Art Approval and Job Ticket (PDF 1.43MB). Drake can and does, when necessary, certify the materials used when manufacturing labels. The certification states that the materials used are the materials specified in the engineering drawings supplied to Drake at the time of manufacture.
We are a resource for engineers that are responsible for the labels on their respective products. Because of our certifications, 40+ years of experience and relationships within the label industry, we have the knowledge of how to specify the correct materials and adhesives for each specific label type.
Variables for "regulation labels" such as label size, UL bug size, color and type of material required are part of the Drake Industries language. When specifying "branding labels" engineers can specify most Pantone colors which we can reproduce.
You can save hundreds of dollars on your label purchase by using one of our thousands of available dies. Most of our durable labels are cut using a steel rule die. A steel rule die provides the closest tolerance and the cleanest cuts. In addition to labels, the dies are used to cut spacers, specialized adhesives, seals and gaskets.
Not sure what you need? We are one of the few durable label manufacturers that offer prototyping services. Drake Industries has invested in digital printers and tools to facilitate "one-off" labels.
